I'm a journalist who specializes in food and I can produce stories for magazine, newspaper, television, and online media. Currently, I'm the associate food editor for Health magazine, where I write and edit about weight management. My work has been published in Health, eGullet,
The New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture: Foodways, and in Cornbread Nation 4: The Best of Southern Food Writing. I started my television career in Oklahoma City, where I covered the Oklahoma City bombing; I also worked in Boston and in Raleigh-Durham, where I helped launch a TV station's website and even did a bit of undercover work.
My love, though, is writing about food, and I'm comfortable writing and editing content about health, agriculture, food politics, trends and culture. I have a bachelor's degree in mass communications/print journalism, and a Master of Liberal Arts in Gastronomy from Boston University. I also attended culinary school at BU, did a stint working for a chocolate shop in the Boston area, and have taught cooking. I'm a member of the Southern Foodways Alliance, Slow Food USA, and the Association for the Study of Food and Society.
